Welcome to the Hub

Everything we offer at the Hub is designed to meet a wide range of needs for children and young people, inclusive of mild emotional wellbeing issues and confidence building through to complex and enduring mental heath disorders.

We are not just a listening service, we are a person-centred holistic service that will scaffold whilst empowering the young person to live a more satisfying and meaningful life. Different counselling and coaching techniques suit different people. We offer a wide range of counselling, coaching and therapy styles reflecting the wide range of personalities, goals and values that young people have and the obstacles that they face.

Our ultimate goal is for you is to be your own counsel through trials and tribulations and secure life-long strength, resilience, perseverance and understanding of yourself and others in different situations.

How confidential is counselling?

The Hub takes confidentiality very seriously. All client information is treated in full confidence. This means that we do not disclose any information without your permission or consent.

The only exceptions are where there is a legal obligation to disclose information - which is extremely rare - or when your counsellor believes that you as the client or other people are at serious risk.

In both these circumstances this will be discussed with you, if we can, before information is disclosed.

Will my counsellor discuss our conversations with anyone?

Contact with anyone outside of the counselling room will only be made if you request this to happen. In such circumstances you will be asked to agree the content of such contact.

If I have had counselling does it go on my records?

We do not release any information for student records. Our notes do not become part of your medical records or your employee records. The notes your counsellor takes are so they can look back at what has been said to enable them to give you the best help possible throughout your sessions.

I am still unsure what all this means?

You can ask your counsellor or email at anytime for further explanation of our confidentiality policy or any other concerns or questions you may have.
